I have used World Nomads trip insurance multiple times and have generally been impressed with their service. I have some amazing things to say about my recent experience with agent LaRae, and unfortunately I'll share a terrible experience with phone agent Marqueta. Let's start with the great:
After needing to alter our insurance policy based on travel changes, LaRae reached out to us via email. She was courteous, responsive, empathetic, and incredibly helpful. LaRae clearly explained what our options were and how we could move forward. Her clarity and willingness to help allowed us to remedy our stressful situation. I can't speak highly enough about the wonderful service provided to us by LaRae. Wherever you are--thank you for being so kind, genuine, and for showing true empathy to our situation. We noticed and it means alot.

Now to the bad: Prior to hearing back from my original email inquiry I called World Nomads and had the misfortune of speaking to Marqueta. Marqueta is the epitomy of terrible, uncaring customer service. It was 8am yet Marqueta already sounded exasperated and uncaring from the greeting. I was friendly during the entire call, but Marqueta had no interest in helping me. I was trying to understand why I needed to go through email for assistance instead of having someone help me over the phone, but instead of calmly explaining the policy Marqueta provided an abrupt answer with little-to-no explanation. I finally had to ask, "Am I understanding that no one over the phone has the access to help me?" I could practically hear her roll her eyes and sigh when she replied, "Yea, let's just go with that." At that point I let her know that she was rude, which is the nicest thing I could have told her. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. Marqueta was disinterested, a poor explainer, impatient, and downright rude. World Nomads team--If you don't believe then PLEASE monitor this call from 8:19am EST on Jan 6, 2021. You will hear what a terrible job she did. She is the reason that I rated this experience great instead of excellent. In summary--LaRae is amazing, I still plan on using World Nomads, and if you ever call and get Marqueta please immediately ask for someone else because she doesn't care about you at all.

Filled out the online claim form and within a week the claim was approved and approx 3 days later the money was back in my bank account. Could not have been happier and I will always use world nomads for my travel insurance from now on.
